What this is
The Fifth Podium is an independent, fictional political satire and entertainment platform. Our flagship experience, The People’s Press Secretary, lets visitors question an original, fictional AI press secretary in a simulated briefing room — and watch the Spin Meter score every magnificent dodge.
The character is not real. On purpose.
The People’s Press Secretary is an original fictional character portrayed with generated imagery and scripted or generated dialogue. She is not a government employee, not a public official, not a real person, and has no affiliation with any government, agency, administration, or press office. Nothing she says is a government statement, and we never publish fictional dialogue as an authentic government communication.
Fact versus parody
Factual layer
News summaries on this site and in the Morning Briefing newsletter are based on verified developments. They carry source citations and accurate timestamps, and they contain no jokes. That is what the other layer is for.
Parody layer
Briefings, quotes attributed to the Secretary, Spin Meter commentary, and all character dialogue are satirical fiction, generated or scripted for entertainment. Every satirical element is explicitly labelled.
